Collaborative Matters

Multi-party mediation, facilitation & training concerning public policy and organizational issues.

Mediation Matters can help organizations and school communities through the communication of issues and the consideration of solutions.

Mediation Matters provides conflict management, consensus-building and decision-making services to municipalities and other government bodies as well as to not-for-profit agencies, private companies and diverse organizations in a manner that allows multiple views to be considered and assessed.

Mediation Matters offers confidential consultations and the custom design of services to address specific needs.

Mediation Matters serves the needs of students, teachers, and staff by providing training on how to address conflict situations in a peaceful manner that is mutually respectful and acknowledges the diversity of the school environment.

Our offerings are based on the recognition that, especially in complex situations, sound decisions are based on a collaborative process that permits the expression and assessment of a broad range of opinions.

Mediation Matters has the expertise to implement such collaborative processes and to teach conflict management and decision-making techniques. We provide such services at a reasonable cost.

Examples of scenarios in which mediation matters can help:

  • Mediation involving multiple stakeholders and the development of public policy, for example, zoning matters and situations involving environmental issues.
  • Peer Mediation Training for middle or high school students.
  • Development and presentation of conflict management curricula and workshops at any grade level or presentation of conflict management training and workshops for teachers, administrators and parents.
  • Facilitation of small group discussions in order to involve citizens, employees or group members in important decisions.
  • Training members of an organization in collaborative processes in order to foster team efforts, conflict reduction, consensus building, and group decision-making.
